{"id":1945,"date":"2019-03-28T15:58:11","date_gmt":"2019-03-28T15:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unitedwelsh.com\/?p=1945"},"modified":"2021-08-31T11:51:25","modified_gmt":"2021-08-31T10:51:25","slug":"standing-together-officially-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.harmonihomes.com\/cy\/blog\/standing-together-officially-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Standing Together officially launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1946\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unitedwelsh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_5353-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.harmonihomes.com\/cy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/03\/IMG_5353-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.harmonihomes.com\/cy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/03\/IMG_5353-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.harmonihomes.com\/cy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/03\/IMG_5353-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3>United Welsh is one of four housing associations taking part in the new \u2018Standing Together Cymru\u2019 project led by the Mental Health Foundation.<\/h3>\n<p>Standing Together is set to create 30 facilitated peer support groups to improve the wellbeing of 450 residents over the age of 55 in retirement housing across south east Wales.<\/p>\n<p>The project aims to improve mental health, wellbeing and build community connections and will be held in various older persons\u2019 accommodation, including two United Welsh schemes: Ifor Jones Court in Cardiff and Fitzroy Lodge in Blackwood.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to a Big Lottery Wales grant of over \u00a3350,000, we will be delivering the Standing Together project with the foundation as well as Derwen Cymru, Melin Homes and Newport City Homes to help boost emotional health and community connections for older people.<\/p>\n<p>Jemma Browning, Thrive 50+ Team Leader for United Welsh said: \u201cWe fully support the Older People\u2019s Commissioner for Wales in her desire to make Wales the best place in the world to grow older.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTackling isolation and building social connections among older people is so important.
