Coronavirus Update

17 Mar 2020

Covid-19

We’d like to give you a further update on how we will be working as a business following the advice by the UK Government yesterday that people should step up their efforts to keep themselves safe.

The Government has said that people should no longer go to places where there are lots of other people and where possible they should work from home to stop the spread of COVID-19 which is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It’s caused by a virus called coronavirus.

As a responsible business we are following Government advice and as of today (Tuesday, March 17th) we are advising our people to work from home where they can so we can protect everyone’s health and help to stop the spread of this virus.

This means that we will be contacting you by phone from now on. We are also equipped to hold these calls via Facetime or Skype if you would like to see the person while you are having your conversation. If it is easier for us to speak to you via social media either on Facebook or Twitter, please use the private inboxes for these channels to contact us.

As a result, it is very important that our contact details for you are up to date so please let us know if you have changed your phone number or any of your contact details as a matter of urgency.

If you contact United Welsh about any matter from now on, we will also continue to ask some questions about the symptoms of coronavirus which are a dry cough, fever and difficulty breathing and any recent travel. This is important so we can limit the risk to our colleagues and customers of coming into contact with someone who may have the virus.

If you are over the age of 70 we may also call you to check how you are coping and whether you have friends, family and neighbours who might be able to help you over the next few weeks.

Our Celtic Horizons service is now prioritising emergency and urgent repairs so please bear with us as some of less urgent work is postponed allowing us to concentrate on what needs to be done. If our operatives do need to come out to your home to do some work, they will also ask you some questions about your health to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect everyone’s health.
