Service charges update

Tenant news

We hope that everyone enjoyed the Easter weekend and you are continuing to follow the advice from the Government and Public Health Wales about keeping yourself and other people safe.

This update is regarding service charges as we have received some queries from tenants about service charges specifically.

The coronavirus pandemic and ensuing safety restrictions to protect our health was an unforeseeable world event which has impacted the way in which United Welsh services can be delivered.

Our services have been reconfigured and staff resources have been redeployed to ensure that essential services are maintained; but also, to ensure that resources can be made available to support tenants through this difficult time and to help protect people who are most vulnerable.

United Welsh will undertake a review of the service delivery and its costs as part of the next service charge annual review, so that what is billed is fair and reasonable for all tenants and leaseholders.

At this time, no refunds will be processed and any relevant adjustments to the service charge will be made in the 2021 – 2022 financial year. By that time, we should have a full picture of our actual costs over the period of the coronavirus pandemic compared to estimated costs, as well as clarity over which services were affected.
