Development
The annual Inside Housing 50 Biggest Builders survey ranks the development outputs of every housing association; reporting which organisations have built the most homes overall with category breakdowns of most new homes for social rent, low-cost home ownership, market sale and more.
After completing 277 new homes in the 2019/20 period, of which 230 were for social rent, United Welsh placed in the Top 10 for associations building the most social homes.
These homes represented 83% of our total build programme last year, which is a testament to our ongoing commitment to provide much-needed quality, energy efficient, affordable homes for our communities.
83% was the highest percentage of social homes within a build programme developed by any housing association in England and Wales last year.
United Welsh also placed in the Top 10 for completing the most new homes as a proportion of housing stock, with the 277 new homes representing 4.5% of the homes provided by the organisation overall.
United Welsh provides homes across 11 local authorities in South Wales and after delivering more than 1,000 homes in the past five years, we intend to build at least 1,300 in the next five.
Our ambitious development programme is a huge part of our work to build homes, create communities and transform lives, and we are delighted to have been recognised in this year’s Inside Housing report.
