Overview

Previously a hotel and pub, the Ty Yn Y Pwll was known locally as the ‘Pyke’ and used to be the toll house on the road between Newport and Caerphilly.

Sadly, after the pub closed, the building had been vacant for several years, becoming an eyesore in Trethomas town centre and a hub for anti-social behaviour.

This new development at the site of the former pub will bring 25 new apartments to the area, with a small community hub on the ground floor and car parking for residents.

The scheme will be managed by United Welsh’s Living Well team, who manage specialist homes and services for older people. The team are passionate about working with older tenants to live well in safety, happiness and good health.
