Welsh Housing Awards United Welsh team

The 2019 Welsh Housing Awards were very special for United Welsh with the Association winning three awards.

The Welsh Housing Awards, organised by Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Cymru, were held at ICC Wales in Newport on Friday 15th November to celebrate the inspirational people and outstanding projects which have taken place across the Welsh housing sector over the last year.

United Welsh was delighted to win three awards for the following projects:

  • Working With Other Sectors award – Presented to our Wellbeing 4U community wellbeing service that is delivered in partnership with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. The service has been life-changing for patients and a life-line for health professionals since launching in 2016.
  • New Ideas and Approaches award – Presented to our Thrive team in partnership with Alertacall for implementing a new housing management contact system at our older persons schemes to give tenants greater independence and communication support.
  • Building Safer Communities award – Presented to our Neighbourhood Safety Team for their dedication to tackling county lines crime in Cardiff, which exploits vulnerable people and blights our communities with drug trafficking.

The CIH Cymru Welsh Housing Awards are the largest and most prestigious awards ceremony for the sector in Wales.

This year’s event was hosted by Gwynne Jones, Managing Director of Cartrefi Conwy and CIH Cymru Board Member and Helen White, Chief Executive of Taff Housing Association.

A huge well done to all the winners and finalists.
