The First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford MS, has confirmed that Wales is now in a Level 4 lockdown to prevent the further spread of coronavirus.

Our NHS is under intense strain, with levels of coronavirus in some parts of Wales unlike anything we have experienced during the pandemic so far. We know this has been a long, hard year, but we must make the right choices and follow lockdown rules to protect ourselves, our neighbours, our families, and to keep vital public services running. We must stay at home.

United Welsh will continue to closely follow Government advice and keep you updated about our services.

Repairs, maintenance and home safety checks

  • Celtic Horizons will continue emergency and urgent repairs only
  • Home safety checks such as gas and electrical testing will also continue
  • Non-urgent repairs and planned maintenance visits are postponed

We will review our repairs services on Friday 8th January to consider whether more services can resume from Monday 11th January 2021.

To find out more about the safety precautions Celtic Horizons will follow to stay covid-safe for emergencies and urgent repairs, please watch our safety film here.

Allocations, lettings and mutual exchanges

  • Virtual viewings and digital tenancy sign-ups will continue
  • Lettings that require face-to-face contact will be held by exception in emergency situations only, in partnership with the Local Authority
  • Mutual exchanges are postponed.

We will review our lettings service on Friday 8th January to consider whether more services can resume from Monday 11th January 2021.

Thrive tenants in Extra Care and Sheltered Accommodation

  • Our Thrive tenants will shortly receive a letter about services in their individual schemes during lockdown.
  • For tenants receiving support services, please be reassured that we are still here to help and will continue to support you virtually and with social distancing precautions in place, as we have been during these past months
  • Health and safety checks of Thrive accommodation, such as fire alarm testing, will continue.

What are the Welsh Government restrictions for Level 4 Lockdown?

Welsh Government has published the following FAQs that contain more detailed guidance about the Level 4 Lockdown.

Coronavirus symptoms

  • A new continuous cough

If you just feel slightly ‘under the weather’ with mild symptoms, please still arrange a quick, safe test.
